Oakland Beach Homes for Sale

Classic Greenwich Bay beach neighborhood

Oakland Beach is one of the most affordable ways to live walking distance from the water in Rhode Island. The neighborhood wraps around a public beach on Greenwich Bay in south-central Warwick, with a boat ramp on Bay Avenue and restaurants along the shore.

Homes in Oakland Beach

A lot of homes here began as small summer cottages and have been expanded or rebuilt over the past few decades, so square footage and quality vary widely. You will also find mid-century ranches, raised ranches and some brand-new builds. Two things we always check for buyers: the flood zone and whether past additions were permitted.

Living in Oakland Beach

In the late 1800s and early 1900s Oakland Beach was a resort with its own amusement park. The 1938 hurricane destroyed much of it, and Hurricane Carol hit again in 1954. Today the beach area is busy in summer and quiet the rest of the year, with I-95 and T.F. Green about ten minutes away.
