Gaspee Homes for Sale

Revolutionary War history on the Providence River

Gaspee is where one of the first acts of the American Revolution happened. On June 9, 1772, local patriots boarded and burned the British revenue schooner HMS Gaspee after it ran aground on the sandbar at what is now Gaspee Point. That history is celebrated every June with Gaspee Days, including a parade along Narragansett Parkway into Pawtuxet.

Homes in Gaspee

Housing ranges from single-family capes and ranches on the plateau to the cottages along Namquid Drive near the point. Many of those cottages sit on leased land rather than land the homeowner owns outright, which affects financing, insurance and value. If you are looking here, we walk you through the lease terms before you make an offer.

Living in Gaspee

Gaspee Point, a small peninsula between Passeonkquis and Occupessatuxet Coves, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. You are next to Governor Francis Farms and Pawtuxet Village and a short drive from Providence.
